Lame and confusing story. Maybe I've been spoiled by the extravagant plots of the tv series, "revenge", but when I think of that word, it invokes malicious, twisted venomous plots to destroy, maim, torture and humiliate. Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns opens with a Burberry umbrella and Prada pumps but when it comes to fashion, it doesn’t go further down the high street than that. The Devil Wears Prada was by no means a literary masterpiece, but at least it was entertaining. While everyone on GoodReads seems to hate the sequel, I thought it was an entertaining summer read. I read the first book which I thought was a fun, guilty pleasure, so I thought that's what I was going to get in the sequel. I absolutely loved the first book of this series as well as the movies depiction of it. Not so with this book, I HATED Andy. She never got passed her "Poor me. And then she talks about how they need to be able to communicate. The narrative just kind of stumbles around hopelessly between little vignettes she thought would be glamourous or dramatic.
