My reasoning for choosing this book (aside from the fact that I know she reads a lot, and she's interested in all sorts of books) was because I thought she'd take interest in the fact that Patterson is such an advocate for young readers. Agent Emily Parker is back with Detective Michael Bennett to seize the perpetrators responsible for the attacks going on in New York. It was, I believe, an Alex Cross book, where it ended, suddenly, without being resolved. One week into a much-needed beach vacation with his huge family, Mike gets a call from his new boss. First, he seems shocked and amazed that a beautiful, curvaceous Mexican woman can also be a savage killer.

Are you ready to read this series? Obviously there will be a sequel and I am aware that this is a continuing series but to not even attempt to wrap up the main plot. Another one of my favorite series, thanks to the edge of your seat suspense and drama. The Teacher’s message is ” Mind your manners or suffer the consequences.”. Thank you so much for visiting and commenting, have a wonderful day. After a series of murders and his sons’ attack while serving time. Pretty good about what I expect from James Patterson. Who knew?! Sure there are flashy and intense scenes created, but they lead nowhere. I gave it one star because the plot was interesting enough that I wanted to finish the book but then "bam" the ultimate ripoff. The previous books in the Michael Bennett series were all thrilling reads with fast paced plots, but I, Michael Bennett fell short. Just when New York’s top investigator should be donning his wedding finery, he may be stepping into a diabolical trap. I just never got around to reading anything of his before now. Although an arrest was made, witnesses, police officers, judges, and even families are in danger if not dead already.

In fact, I did initially give it 4 stars. So I was given a ton of James Patterson books by a friend of a friend (I have the reputation of a booklover around here, not sure why lol). Then, he can't understand why his long suffering, on-again-off-again housekeeper/possibly-future-Mrs.Bennett, gets ticked when he is running around with a drop-dead gorgeous childhood friend/prosecuting attorney...especially when she calls him to her posh hotel in the dead of night to "go over your testimony" (wink, wink). I'll say right up front that the ending to I, MICHAEL BENNETT, is horrible. When Detective Bennett discovers a pattern he realizes that he has only a few hours to save the people of New York before it’s too late. When a horrifying assassination takes place, Detective Bennett realizes that this is just the beginning of something much bigger. So I’m pretty surprised that I generally enjoyed this one. Actually the story could have been wrapped up in chapter 2 when Michael Bennett chases down the drug king. I thought this was one of the better Michael Bennett Books. I loved the series “The President is missing” and had not registered it was written by James Patterson. She said she found it a bit disturbing, so of course, I was intrigued! It seems are hero is joining arrogant Alex Cross in not really caring about proper procedures or how his rash actions will affect those around him. I'm not sure of Mr. Patterson even writes any more. Is it just me or is there a part of us that whenever we think of cops, detectives, ex-military in novels we conjure up a hot, rugged looking man as the main lead ? Every department imaginable was involved after information had come through that Perrine would be in New York to see his daughter graduate. I learned that while taking a Children's Literature class, and since then, my two teenage daughters have read a few of his YA books--and LOVED them! Not only are Mike’s kids being terrorized by some local kids and his love life is, well, interesting, but now bodies are piling up all over New York City and he must stop the bomber before he strikes again. right in front of him and his family. The sadistic and vicious killer wouldn’t hesitate to shoot his way out of any situation, so the arrest had to be perfect. With much action, character development, and drama, the authors inject new life into this the 'third worthwhile' Patterson series, where the NYT best-selling author has begun major flops penning one-offs. Your email address will not be published. Either of those would be a good choice if you are looking to try something new. Phooey. Bennett is pulled into a major case when the FBI and DEA work with the NYPD to target Perrine, one of the biggest drug lords in America.
