Mahanandin was the last king of the Shishunga dynasty. According to the Jain texts such as Parishishtaparvan and Avashyaka sutra, which do not mention the name "Mahapadma" either, the Nanda king was the son of a courtesan by a barber. According to the serial, Nandni is the daughter of Dhana Nanda though in reality Chandragupta’s wife Durdhara is believed to be the daughter of his maternal uncle. They state that Nanda succeeded Udayin after his death from a rival king.
Nandni Hates Chandragupta Maurya It is believed that Chandragupta Maurya killed Dhana Nanda to acquire his kingdom with the help of Chanakya.
She is believed to be his eldest maternal uncle’s daughter who came along with him in Patliaputra and even supported him in his struggle against the King Dhana Nanda.
Many people assume Durdhara to be Dhana Nanda’s daughter (which isn’t true!). Chandra Nandini is an Indian Hindi-language Historical fictional drama television series which started airing on Star Plus on 10 October 2016 till 10 November 2017.

Dhana Nand was the son of Mahapadma Nanda who was the son of a king named Mahanandin and his shudra wife/concubine.
Since, Mahapadma Nand was from a lower strata wife, he knew he would never become a king and so he killed all his brothers from other mothers and became the king.
