There's no final confrontation between Maleficent and Ingrith, but Aurora does find love for her dark godmother again. The dramatic first trailer definitely hints that Maleficent is back to her bad old ways though, to the extent that Aurora asks her at one point: "What have you done?" We're heading into spoiler territory. It certainly would seem strange that Disney would retcon their own retcon, one that made Maleficent stand out among their other remakes (even if you didn't agree with it). You can imagine.
